Most celebrity (and non-celebrity) moms regularly tweet and upload photos of their kids to Facebook. The good majority of moms on my own friends list post pics of their children along with parenting tips, products they like, and countless other insights into parenthood. When they do it, it’s helpful, but when some celebrity parents do it, they’re considered stuck up or elitist.
Gwyneth Paltrow is no stranger to being labeled a snob. Many feel that her innocent claims that she is a regular working mom are nothing but inflated conceit. Her recent cookbook includes lofty quotes and cooking plans that would never get passed a typical, harried working mother. (How many of us use wood-burning stoves on a daily basis?) Maybe it’s because she gave her kids names like Moses and Apple which some find too eccentric. It seems most people hate her because she seems too perfect. Is celebrity-hating the last acceptable mommy war in today’s politically correct society?
